When it comes to your law school application, timing can make the difference. Most schools advertise that they start accepting applications for the next school year early in the year. This will be in January to March for the fall semester of that year. Because of all the requirements and the attention to detail this application will be put through, it is advisable to start the process a year before this deadline.
If may be unfair, but those that are submitted first have the best chance of being accepted. If it is permissible, early submission should be done if your application is ready. One note of caution, if your application is not perfect, wait and polish it before you submit it. Rushing your application to have it submitted early that contains errors is a sure fire way of it being rejected.
The LSAT is a very important factor for most law schools. Being properly prepared for this examination is crucial to obtaining the best possible score. While you can take this test more than once, you will be at the mercy of the school on how they will view a test taken multiple times. Some average the scores while others only look at the last score results. Why take a chance, be prepared and only take it once.
The LSAT is only offered 4 times a year. This is in February, June, October, and December. Registration for the test takes place a month before the test. To obtain your preferred location, it is suggested to register as early as possible before a site fills up.
The sooner you are prepared and ready to take this examination, the more time you will have for the other requirements. You can wait till the last moment, but the strings you will need to pull have better be exceptional ones. If you are going on merit alone, finish this requirement early.
